It all started one fine spring day in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens...
Steffany and Megan had recently been discussing their current life ruts, and how they would love to travel "one day." After seeing the cherry blossoms starting to bloom, and walking through the Japanese Garden, they said:
"We should go to Asia. Haha."
"Wait... We SHOULD go to Asia.."
The rest of the day was spent excitedly chattering about if and how they could make it happen. Different basic plans were made, volunteer projects in Asia discussed, and travel books bought.
- The girls sought out the advice of other Asia explorors, such as their dear friend Sherry (who sadly could not come).
- Read travel blogs, such as the Adventures of Jen & Kate.
- Saved money.
- Put things in storage.
- Quit their jobs.
- Hopped a plane nine months later.
